Company Profile
Our company is a small IT company building Internet Community Networks initially in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

The company is owned and run by 2 former journalists. As well as our part-time staff of three, we employ a firm of accountants and a firm of lawyers to look after our business.

We have developed a unique database system over a period of ten years which gives us the ability to create digital facsimiles of each suburb and the businesses in them.

We are in the process of expanding across Sydney and believe that what we are doing will be of interest to very large Internet companies once we have established a big-enough "footprint" in Sydney. Our systems will function equally well anywhere in the world. The advertising potential for what we are doing is very promising.

We are closely associated with, and hold a shareholding in, a much larger IT company. They have offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Wellington NZ, London UK, Edinburgh and Poland.

Intern Duties

The main task would be Research & Development

Part of this would be local knowledge gained by checking neighbourhoods on foot and by car, checking against Internet websites, and processing this information into our database

We are also prepared to give Interns a weekly seminar on Journalism and allied topics such as Marketing and Advertising. We have both had senior experience in newspaper and magazine production in Australia and in London and New York, as well as our experience in IT since 1994.
